Red Yeast Rice (RYR) has been used in food and traditional medicine for thousands of years in China for cardiovascular support. An extract from RYR has been fermented with the yeast Monascus purpureus, which creates compounds that have been clinically shown to inhibit the production of cholesterol in the liver.
AOR’s Red Yeast Rice is the world’s first RYR product that does not contain any monacolin K or citrinin. Additionally, AOR has standardized the amount of biologically active pigments monascin and ankaflavin, which have been studied for their cholesterol-lowering activity.
